This course presents a comprehensive theology of the Church (origin, nature, mission, and destiny); in brief, it treats the combined areas of fundamental and systematic ecclesiology. Central themes of the course include: the Church vis-à-vis the Kingdom of God; Vatican II’s texts, shifts, and Trinitarian ecclesiology; Church as Mystery, Pilgrim People of God, Body of Christ, Sacrament of Salvation, Temple of the Spirit; the theology of the local church and an ecclesiology of communion; the Church’s complex mission of integral evangelization; the holiness of the Church and spirituality; Mary in the Mystery of the Church.
