ETHICS AND MIGRATION (3 units)

The course examines the major ethical issued migration poses such as: the international division of labor in the context of global capitalism; the related question of speaking of human/cultural rights vis-à-vis racism, ethnocentrism, gender discrimination/violence against women; and the ethical questions involved in intercultural marriages, the transnationalization of families and dealing with HIV-AIDS in migrant families. Christian virtues such as debt of solidarity, mutuality, hospitality, stewardship and responsible citizenship will be reinterpreted in the migration context, as well as, the understanding of the Trinity and the Church.
