BIBLICAL SPIRITUALITY

This course will help bring scripture to life in very specific circumstances. God’s word is heard for our circumstances today.

The course invites the students to investigate the spirituality behind selected scriptural passages using the approach: “From This Place.” Each student will be invited to select 2 passages and analyze them according to three areas:

* First, historical analysis
* Second, the spirituality behind and within the passage
* Third, the student must select a certain “place” or perspective from which to explore and find what Paul Ricoeur calls a “surplus of meaning”

MA or Doctoral Students may apply. Course can be credited for Scriptural Studies or Spirituality
